Quantum Cats

Christmas is now over and now we have more presents than we started with. How does that work? It makes me think of this quantum mechanics article in the NY Times, noted at Slashdot, about an experiment where they got some atoms to spin clockwise and counterclockwise at the same time. I still don't get it. It then gets into the history of quantum mechanics with the likes of Einstein, Bohr, and Schrödinger (where the cat theory about a cat being dead and alive in a box comes from). It's an interesting article nonetheless if not bizarre. The article seems to say that the scientists say we live in a weird world and question our concept of reality. Heh.
