Christina and I went to a local hawker place that our friends go to all the time to eat Roti Canai, curry daal, fish curry, and teh tarik. I was happy to try the Roti Canai fresh since I'd only had it frozen before. Christina knew about it and we often used the frozen kind when we made Malaysian food at home. It was interesting that it was all cut up. We were rather late for breakfast so our friend Denise said it wasn't as fresh as normal. That might be why it tasted similar to the frozen ones. Still, it was great. The curry daal and fish curry were great too. I love lentils and all that savory curry goodness. Indian food for breakfast was a new experience for me but certainly not unappreciated. The teh tarik, literally pulled tea, is a tea mixed with condensed milk poured through a strainer and "pulled" away from the tea in a cup as it pours. That was nicely mixed and creamy. Nothing else quite like it. Boba milk tea is great too but different. On a side note, check out Tea Station in LA for the great tea in boba milk tea or other tea drinks. Little Bean, also in LA, on the other hand is awesome for the boba and fruity additions.
